Magical Miniatures

If you love all things magical and miniature you are in the right place.

About me and my blog

I am a mother of three and work on a market stall. In my free time I love to make magical miniatures. It all started with my gran who spent hours when I was a child teaching me how to make do. This entailed mending and fixing and making things from scratch. My dolls house consisted of cardboard boxes with windows cut out, beautifully decorated and all furniture hand made. We sat for hours making clothes and accessories for my dolls to the envy of my friends that all had the same generic stuff. So thanks gran for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy my art and my blog. Thanks for visiting.

Nanna's new home

Nanna has impressed me. I think she and her accessories have turned out great.
I used a thick material for the carpet at the bottom of the jar and made a basket by layering pva glue over strands of wool that I draped over a small plastic deodorant can lid, then when they became hard I wove more wool around them.
Nanna was fixed into place on her rocking chair and I made a small magazine for the table.
I wound some small balls of wool and added pins as knitting needles. Some I used in the basket and some I used in the lid after I covered its base with black card.
Once the scene was set I made a ball of wool charm from wire and some tags that I hung from ribbon around the jar neck.

  3. Love little scenes in jars! :) Back in college, a friend of mine did tons and tons of mini scenes in jars. They were gorgeous, as are yours! I also did a knitting basket but I think I need to re-do it... not entirely pleased with the results.

Would love for you to visit me at toddlindsey.com! :)
